Northwest Native and Ballard resident, Matt Bazemore is a plein air painter who seeks to instill a spirit of life and animation into the rural and cityscapes he creates. “It’s my intention to capture the atmosphere and essence of these places, with a slice of Americana they become a bit of an idealized journal.”
Matt Bazemore Was born in Spokane, Washington in 1958. His family settled in Bellevue in 1966. He graduated from Western Washington University in Bellingham in 1985 with a BFA in fine art, and relocated to Seattle. For 12 years Matt pursued a watercolor and colored pencil style as an illustrator and was the cover artist for The rock group Queensryche’s album The Warning. After becoming a plein air painter in 1997, Matt has been part of group shows as well as solo shows in Arlington, Bellevue, And Seattle.
